Mistakes that cost money
No trigger depth in writing
Without it, every flurry becomes a dispute.
Seasonal with no cap
Consider an event cap or a per-push surcharge above a set number of events in a record winter.
Salting included "free"
Material costs are real. Bill per application.
Ignoring walkways
Hand shovelling takes longer per foot than plowing. Price it separately.

Frequently asked questions
How much should I charge to salt a parking lot?
Published guides put commercial salting around $50–$150 per application; pricing per 1,000 sq ft scales it fairly by lot size.
Do I need a slip-and-fall clause?
Commercial snow contracts commonly include liability language. Have a local lawyer review yours; this isn't legal advice.
